Quality Manager - Biochemistry

An exciting opportunity has become available at BPL for a Manager to lead the Biochemistry department within the Quality Control Function.

Key responsibilities to include;

  • Reporting directly to the Head of Quality Control, you will provide management and leadership to BPL's Biochemistry department
  • Ensure the Laboratory is delivering results as required for lot release, product stability and validation activities.
  • Deliver the strategic people plan to include delivering training plans, career development, headcount forecasting, recruitment activities and managing working arrangements
  • Direct line management for the Team Leaders and Technical Specialists within the department ensuring capital and operational expenditure are in line with the budget.
  • Lead long term strategic projects within the Biochemistry department and across the site.
  • Define and ensure the delivery of departmental objectives through the Biochemistry team

Experience to make you successful in the role;

You'll be experienced in leading and managing teams to deliver departmental goals, ideally with a Biochemistry background, with proven success of leading and developing a team. Ideally you will have experience of running a busy laboratory, leading projects and setting functional strategy.

You must be an excellent communicator who can engage with individuals at all levels and must have a drive to ensure high levels of quality are attained.
