BPL's head office is based in Borehamwood, in a secure campus surrounded by natural beauty, greenery, lakes and wildlife. We are an organisation where our products change people's lives, and the purpose of our work is lived and breathed through its people.

As we receive blood plasma on-site, it enters our production facility where it goes through many controlled processes to produce the medicine we send straight out to our patients. Our production facility operates 24/7 and we employee over 900 staff at our Elstree head office.

Technicians in Production are critical roles within our organisation and where some of our exisitng leadership and management teams started their careers.

As a Production Technician within BPL you will undertake the following duties:

  • Carry out through development, specific processes within downstream purification and formulation in compliance with cGMP, product licences, H&S standards, and KPI's.
  • As the Process Technician of a designated process, you will operate processes such as Chromatography, Centrifugation or ultrafiltration and other fully automated processes, for which you will develop a full operational understanding.
  • You will actively support an environment of continuous improvement ensuring that all quality and productivity targets are achieved through the optimum use of resources in a safe environment. You will use effective communication skills with all team members to ensure completion of the Production Manufacturing and filling plans.
  • You will be able to analyse issues and effectively problem solve, in support of the Team Leader.

Experience to make you successful in the role:

  • You will have worked within a production or manufacturing environment, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry however this is not essential
  • Ideally you will have a qualification in science
  • Have some experience of working within a regulated environment with some experience of SOPs and GMP
  • Passionate about making a difference to people's lives
  • Enjoy working in a team environment
  • Due to our location in Borehamwood, you'll need your own transport as there is no public transport to site
